Oil company Atlantic Petroleum, of the Faroe Islands, which is currently under massive pressure from the low oil price, has launched a process aimed at looking closer into the company's strategic opportunities - including for instance the possibility of a sale or merger, says the company in a statement on Monday.
As part of the strategic process, Atlantic Petroleum will consider a wide range of opportunities, one of which could be a sale of the company, or merging with another company. Furthermore, the statement also mentions a possible sale, joint venture or partnership in relation to Atlantic Petroleum's activities in the UK and/or Norway. The company also points to the possibility of maintaining its corporate strategy as an independent company.
