
Maersk Oil was facing off against major oil players, and as such it was no great surprise that the Danish company failed to win the contract, says Maersk Oil CEO Jakob Thomasen.
"But I want to say that we brought a technically strong bid compared to the others. We've also taken it to the limit commercially, but we also have to protect our shareholders' interests in order to get acceptable returns on the investment. And in this regard we did not take it further than we did," he tells Ritzau, adding:
