Bunker suppliers in Singapore will continue to sell high-sulfur fuel

Fuel with more than 0.5 percent sulfur will continue to be sold by three out of four bunker suppliers in Singapore after the new sulfur regulations come into force next year.

Three out of four bunker suppliers in Singapore will continue to stock high-sulfur fuel after the new sulfur regulations come into force less than nine months from now, reports Ship & Bunker.

The new IMO regulations mean that ships will no longer be allowed to sail on fuel with sulfur content exceeding 0.5 percent, unless ships have scrubbers installed to clean sulfur from their exhaust.
