Søren Toft on terminated partnership: "The 2M alliance played a key role"

Joining forces with Maersk was a necessary move to pour oil on troubled waters for container carriers, says MSC chief exec. He stresses that the carrier will continue its current fleet expansion.

The partnership between Maersk and MSC has been decisive in steadying the freight markets which hit choppy waters after the financial crisis hit 15 years ago, says MSC CEO Søren Toft in the wake of an unanimous decision to terminate the 2M partnership.
