Rickmers-Linie: New sulphur regulations hinge on enforcement

Rickmers-Linie is preparing a new bunker surcharge from January 1st 2015, and the German company is also calling for tighter enforcement.

German Rickmers-Linie is preparing a new bunker surcharge for the company's customers in relation to the transition to the new sulfur regulations on January 1st 2015, when the carriers will have to either switch to more expensive fuel or install scrubbers on ships operating in the so-called ECA zones in Northern Europe, the US or Canada, says Rickmers-Linie in a press release.
