CMA CGM confirms meetings about French-Chinese alliance

CMA CGM now confirms ShippingWatch's information that the carrier is meeting with the new Chinese container giant China Cosco Shipping Corporation to discuss the creation of a new mega-alliance.

A new alliance scenario in the container industry could very well emerge within the near future, and Rodolphe Saadé, vice chairman of the board of directors at France's CMA CGM on confirms that the container carrier is in active talks with the newly established Chinese container player China Cosco Shipping Corporation (CCSC) concerning the possibilities of establishing a new large-scale alliance, as recently reported by ShippingWatch. Rodolphe Saadé confirms this fact in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.
