Monjasa tanker detained in West Africa

For weeks, a tanker from the Danish bunker company Monjasa has been detained by authorities in Angola. "We don't believe we've done anything wrong," says Anders Østergaard, CEO of Monjasa Holding.

A tanker from the Danish bunker company Monjasa has been detained by authorities in Angola since January 21st.

The tanker M/T San Padre Pio, at 7,616 dwt, is currently anchored right off the capital Luanda, in West Africa, after authorities arrested the ship for transferring fuel to another ship 40 nautical miles off of the coast of Angola.
