
Greek shipowners have in recent months invested heavily in new tanker vessels. A clear sign of an attractive tanker market going forward, brokers tell Hellenic Shipping News.
In March alone, Greek stakeholders ordered 15 new tanker vessels for a total of around USD 900 million from shipyards in Asia, and in the first weeks of April additional newbuilding orders were placed for around USD 500 million, according to the brokers.
