Scorpio to build giant container ships for MSC

Bulk and tanker carrier Scorpio is now also entering the container market, and the carrier will help build the world's largest container ships for MSC, according to the Journal of Commerce.

Scorpio now wants to be part of the container industry, and the carrier has formed a collaboration with MSC aimed at building what will become the world's largest container ships, according to the Journal of Commerce.

The venture involves three container ships of 19,200 teu, to be built by Samsung Heavy Industries. MSC will charter the ships for a period of up to 15 years, says brokers Freight Investor Service.
