Ships continue to leak out of Swedish merchant fleet

The amount of ships registered under the Swedish flag continues to decline and is now at the lowest level since the registration began, according to a new study. Meanwhile the total Swedish-controlled fleet is increasing.

The Swedish merchant fleet continued its decline in 2014 where the number of ships under the Swedish flag fell by two percent or what corresponds to six ships compared to 2013, according to new numbers from the Swedish authority Trafikanalys, which compiles data on the Swedish transport sector.
