Logistics company Kuehne + Nagel has in round figures parted ways with 5,000 employees throughout 2020, during which a hiring freeze and the coronavirus crisis has made one of the world's largest freight forwarders review its costs.

From employing 83,161 people at the turn of the year, Kuehne + Nagel's workforce consisted of 78,183 people by the end of September. This corresponds to a drop of 4,978 employees in 2020, or roughly 6 percent of the total workforce.
