Asia surpasses Russia as EU's most important supplier of oil products

With an EU embargo on refined oil products from Russia approaching, other suppliers are stepping up. Transport routes are thus getting longer, which benefits the product tanker segment, says Bimco.

In October, Asia delivered 4.4 million tonnes of refined oil products to the European Union, and that is more than a doubling compared to the monthly average, writes shipping organization Bimco.
