Norwegian yard giant headed toward profitability

Norwegian Bergen Group managed to pull its operating profit into the black during the first three months of the year, and the company experienced a strong growth in services to the offshore industry, says CEO in the interim report.

The first three months of the year have made Bergen Group able to present a positive operating result (EBITDA) of USD 503,600, compared to a deficit of USD 4.14 million in the same period last year, according to the company's interim report.

The shipbuilding giant achieved a revenue of USD 98.2 million, compared to USD 83.5 million in the same period 2013, while the result before taxes remained negative, at a USD 2.0 million deficit, though this marks a significant reduction compared the USD 32.5 million deficit the company suffered in the same period last year.
