North Sea winter gives offshore sector a short breather

Oil Companies' preparations for winter in the North Sea have given the beleaguered owners of supply ships a little breather, although it may prove short-lived, reports analyst firm Clarksons Platou Offshore.

Oil companies are preparing for worsening weather conditions in the North Sea winter, sending spot rights up for both anchor handling vessels, AHTS', and Offshore Supply Vessels, so-called OSVs, according to analyst firm Clarksons Platou Offshore in its latest update on the global offshore market.
