In the midst of what numerous observers describe as the worst ordering scenario ever for the world's offshore supply carriers, Dubai-based Topaz Energy and Marine has secured a five-year contract with BP for 14 of the carrier's vessels, according to a press release from Topaz.

The 14 offshore supply vessels will sail for BP Exploration in the Caspian Sea. In addition to the five-year contract, the parties have also signed a deal for two one-year options, under current market conditions, to service in particular the BP ACG and Shan Deniz II fields off the coast of Azerbaijan.
