Nordea impairs oil loans by USD 88 million

Nordea has impaired its shipping, oil and offshore loans by USD 88 million in the second quarter. This is an increase of four percent compared to the previous quarter. CEO Casper Von Koskull expects that the write-downs on industry loans will continue to increase.

The crisis within the offshore sector continues to affect Nordea.

The Scandinavian major bank has been forced to write down the value of its loans to shipping, oil and offshore by 88 million USD in the second quarter against USD 55 million in the first three months of the year. This is according to the recently published half-year interim report.
