US authority the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC) is dialing up its investigative and prosecution functions in order to enforce the country’s Shipping Act.
The FMC has established a new unit by the name Bureau of Enforcement, Investigations, and Compliance (BEIC), effective immediately, according to a statement issued Monday.
