Søren Skou will be remembered for his decision to transform Maersk into a pure transportation group. His replacement is the obvious choice in continuing the strategy.

Søren Skou’s decision to resign as chief executive on Monday came as a surprise to many. The choice of his successor, on the other hand, less so, say several leading analysts.
