UASC goes reefer shopping

Container carrier UASC has purchased 2,000 reefer container units for its reefer business. Additional orders will be placed later this year as part of the carrier's strategy to focus on reefer, says UASC.

Reefer represents a major focus area for container carrier UASC, and the carrier has now invested in 2,000 reefer containers. The company describes this move as a significant expansion of its reefer activities. The containers will be deployed on the South America trades, among other routes, where UASC entered a cooperation agreement with Hamburg Süd in 2014.
