Mariners must land in the airport before 3pm

On the same day that the Danish Ministry of Justice issued a report about more flexible visa rules, the Copenhagen Police Department issued rules dictating the opposite, says the Danish Shipbrokers' Association.

The shipbrokers are too a large extent the ones who have been hit by the tight rules regarding visas for mariners signing on or off in Danish ports. Besides the mariners, of course.

That's why the Danish Shipbrokers' Association is pleased that the Ministry of Justice has announced that the rules will be eased, both in terms of applications filed abroad at the Danish embassies and representations, and when the mariners land in Copenhagen Airport. According to CEO of the Danish Shipbrokers' Association, Allan Houtved, it's about time, as the association has been struggling with the issue for a decade, with politicians as well as the National Police, which issues the specific guidelines for police officers handling the mariners.
