The three largest container carriers in the world, Maersk Line, CMA CGM, and MSC, expect to launch the extensive P3 alliance in the second quarter 2014, with joint operations controlled from London.
But it's an ambitious time frame that involves the organizations of three huge shipping companies with, a small army of attorneys, and competition authorities in the United States, China, and EU - and where China and the US will have to formally approve the collaboration.
