Scorpio Bulkers buys 15 ships for USD 455 million

Scorpio Bulkers has ordered 15 new dry bulk ships spread out across 5 giant orders from shipyards in Japan and China, for a total price of USD 455 million.

Scorpio Bulkers announced Monday afternoon, yesterday, that the carrier has placed a series of large newbuilding orders for in total 15 new dry bulk ships.

The orders include 11 Ultramax vessels ranging in size from 60,000 to 64,000 dwt, as well as four so-called Kamsarmax vessels of 81,000 to 84,000 dwt.
