Bjarne Faber replaces Ultrabulk with Oldendorff

Ultrabulk's CFO since 2009, Bjarne Faber, has resigned from his position at the Chilean-Danish carrier to assume a similar position with the major German competitor, Oldendorff. He will be replaced by a former Maersk exec. Read on to learn who.

Bjarne Faber moved straight to the major competitor yesterday, Thursday, when he had his first day working at his new job as CFO of the world's largest dry bulk carrier, Oldendorff.

Bjarne Faber was been part of the senior management team at Chilean-Danish dry bulk carrier Ultrabulk since 2009, where he served as senior executive responsible for the financial aspects of the bulk carrier, which is currently headquartered in Gentofte, Denmark. The shipping company and its 100 active ships is actually an operator, as it only owns 2.5 ships, and the model has been successful so far. Ultrabulk made it through the crisis in solid form and looks set to finish 2013 with a profit yet again, one that is set to surpass 2012. The carrier currently has 15 newbuildings in the pipeline, Ultrabulk CEO Per Lange tells ShippingWatch, adding that he is sorry to see Bjarne Faber leave the company, though he understands that there sometimes comes a point in one's career where new challenges are needed.
