Carbon levy could more than double the price of traditional fuel

It will take a significant carbon levy, which more than doubles current fuel prices, to sufficiently push shipping's green transition in the way Norwegian and Danish shipowners call for, shipping professor tells ShippingWatch.

A significant and high carbon levy, which more than doubles today's fuel prices, will be needed in order to really drive the adoption of green alternatives such as ammonia in the shipping sector, says Shipping Professor Roar Os Ådland of the Norwegian School of Economics.
