Norwegian shipowners: IMO must secure climate neutrality by 2050

Instead of focusing on intermediary targets in 2030 and 2040, it ought to be top priority at the coming UN MEPC meeting to tighten the target for 2050 markedly, says Norwegian Shipowners’ Association.

When the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) will meet in a 100 days, the most important element is to revise the current 2050 target of halving emissions and aim for net zero instead.
