EU to support former STX yard employees in Finland

The EU Commission is gearing up to provide EUR 1.4 million to help former Finnish yard employees prepare for new job opportunities.

Around EUR 268 per person. That is how much the EU Commission is ready to provide - through the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) - to 565 fired shipyard employees from South Korean-owned STX Finland Oy. The money, a total of EUR 1.4 million, will be used to prepare and train the former employees for new job opportunities.
