Fatal accident marks Aker BP's 2017

Oil company Aker BP announces growth in the fourth quarter as well as for the full year. However, a fatal accident on a drilling platform took up a large part of CEO Johnny Hersvik's presentation of Q4, and the investigation into the accident is still ongoing, he says.

Aker BP can look back on a 2017 with growth in earnings and important takeovers of new oil fields, according to the just-released annual report.

But the past year will also be remembered for the fatal accident which took place on a drilling platform the company has leased from Maersk Drilling. One person died after falling into the water.
