Carsten Plougmann Andersen, who boasts a 40-year career with Maersk, has been named chair of a newly-established offshore company.
Plougmann Andersen, best known for his post as CEO of Maersk Supply Service until 2015, will be the figurehead of United Offshore Support (UOS) which will take care of technical management services of 13 anchor handling vessels.
Hayfin Capital Management is behind UOS, working together with Breakwater Capital on the project. One of the partners behind Breakwater is Danish executive Andreas Povlsen who also has a history at Maersk. United Offshore Support are buying the commercial and technical management service from both UOS United Offshore Support GmbH & Co KG and Hartmann Offshore GmbH & Co KG, which today manages 13 vessels.
UOS has also nominated Howard Woodcock as CEO.
The latter has over 35 years experience in shipping, maritime and the oil and gas industry, including a stint as CEO of Bibby Offshore.
From 2004 to 2015, Plougmann Andersen was Group Senior Vice President of Maersk, besides the CEO post of Maersk Supply Service. From 2012 to 2014 he was also chairman of Esvagt.
Since 2015, he has had his own consultancy firm, C.PLAN Consultants.
