Norway approves Equinor's billion dollar North Sea plan

Norwegian authorities have cleared Equinor's investment plan for North Sea oil field Troll, which is worth almost USD 1 billion.

Norway's energy ministry has approved Equinor's billion dollar investment plan for North Sea field Troll, says the oil major in a press release.

Along with its partners, Equinor plans to invest around NOK 7.8 billion (USD 914 million) to develop and extend the field's production life to beyond 2050. In the press release, Equinor describes the Troll field as "unique," noting that it has since 1995 generated income totaling around NOK 1,400 billion.
