200 million Indian scooters keep Asia's gasoline consumption high

The electric cars have entered Asia and are now reflected in Japan's gasoline consumption. But family cars in China and two-wheelers in India look set to keep gasoline consumption high for years to come, shows a new analysis.

What does China's departure from its one-child policy in 2015 have to do with the finances of a product tanker shipping company?

According to the analysts at WoodMackenzie, the two elements are related, as the growing Chinese families with children are buying bigger cars and thus boosting gasoline consumption. And this means that more refined oil products need to be shipped to the country, and this is good news for tanker ship operators, who were otherwise struggling financially in 2018.
