Equinor hits jackpot with major oil discovery

The Norwegian oil major has discovered the equivalent of up to 100 million barrels of oil in the North Sea, among this year's biggest discoveries for the company.

Somewhere between 38 and 100 million barrels of oil equivalent (boe) is what the latest oil discovery amounts to for Equinor and partners, including ExxonMobil, Idemitsu and Neptune. This corresponds to 6-16 million standard cubic meters, confirmed both Equinor and the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate on Wednesday.
