British oil sector stands to lose 30,000 jobs

The great oil price decline will severely affect the British oil and gas sector, in which up to 30,000 may lose their jobs, according to trade association.

Up to 30,000 people could lose their jobs in the British oil and gas sector as a result of the coronavirus and the massive drop in oil prices seen recently.

That is the gloomy assessment of UK trade association Oil & Gas UK (OGUK), which is seeing major consequences of the global coronavirus outbreak, while oil and gas prices are currently at a low.
