Seadrill files for Chapter 11 in the US for the whole group

John Fredriksen's rig operator Seadrill has now submitted a petition for Chapter 11 in the US for the whole group after applying for the same for a series of subsidiaries earlier this week.

Drilling company Seadrill, controlled by John Fredriksen, has now filed for Chapter 11 receivership in the US for the whole group.

The latest petition comes only a few days after Seadrill applied for bankruptcy protection for a series of its Asian subsidiaries to secure a better financial restructuring.
