Seadrill sells five rigs for scrapping

John Fredriksen-controlled Seadrill has sold five rigs that have been marked for scrapping in Turkey, according to Finansavisen.

Rig company Seadrill has sold five rigs that will be sent to Turkey for scrapping, writes Norwegian business daily Finansavisen, citing court documents from a bankruptcy court in Texas.

Seadrill has been under bankruptcy protection in the US since last year. Since then, the drilling company has been busy working on a comprehensive restructuring.
