NGO: EU proposal for Green Deal locks in fossil marine fuels

According to Transport & Environment, leaked documents on the EU's prestige project Green Deal on the decarbonization of shipping show that the EU will prolong the use of fossil fuels such as LNG and biofuels "for decades". Dutch MEP calls the document "a bombshell". Updated.

It will be an uphill struggle for the EU to achieve the ambitious climate goals of reducing CO2 emissions by 55 percent in 2030 and reaching climate neutrality in 2050, according to NGO Transport & Environment (T&E).
