Bank estimates Esvagt worth more than USD 1 billion after ownership change

DNB Markets estimates that Esvagt has a value of nearly DKK 7 billion after 3i Infrastructure opted to buy the entire offshore and wind carrier amid a sales process. "We were surprised, but in a positive way," says Esvagt CEO Peter Lytzen to ShippingWatch.

British private equity firm 3i Infrastructure, which recently became the sole owner of Esvagt, wasn't satisfied with the acquisition bids made for the Danish offshore and wind service operator and thus chose to make use of an option to fully purchase the company.

3i Infrastructure thus takes over co-investor AMP Capital's 50 percent stake for a price of GBP 268 million, the company announced on Friday.
