BP fined USD 18 billion for Deepwater spill

The oil company acted with "gross negligence," and this could cost the company USD 4,300 per barrel of oil spilled into the Gulf of Mexico.

Several million barrels of oil leaked from BP's Macondo well in the Gulf of Mexico following an explosion on the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig back in April 2010.
