Viking Supply Ships loses three big contracts

Viking Supply Ships have had three contracts canceled and the carrier is now left without work for three AHTS vessels that were otherwise booked for 2015 and two years ahead. "Now possible to secure new Arctic deployment," CEO tells ShippingWatch.

Viking Supply Ships will be left without work for three of the carrier's eight AHTS (Anchor Handling Tug Supply) vessels from May next year.

The three ships - Brage Viking, Magne Viking and Balder Viking - were booked on contract from May to November 2015, the season for AHTS vessels. But the customer has decided to cancel the contract, which otherwise covered the period from next year and until 2017.
