Kvaerner lands new giant Sverdrup contract

Statoil has selected Kvaerner and KBR to deliver a complete platform solution for the massive Johan Sverdrup field. The new order represents Kvaerner's second Sverdrup contract and is worth around USD 845 million.

Kvaerner has, in a joint venture with US-based KBR, won a sought after contract from Statoil in which the two partners will deliver a complete topside platform solution for the major Johan Sverdrup oil field in the North Sea.

The contract is worth around USD 845 million and involves one of a total of four platforms in the first stage field development process, says Kvaerner in a statement.
