US authorities clear major Shell acquisition

The US authorities have cleared Royal Dutch Shell's acquisition of competitor for USD 70 billion.

The US Federal Trade Commission has approved Royal Dutch Shell's move to acquire UK-based BG Group. As such, the first obstacle has been cleared from the path, but the European, Chinese and Brazilian competition authorities have yet to clear the transaction, reports Bloomberg.
