The wave that on December 30th resulted in the death of an employee and injured another two on oil rig Cosl Innovator was so powerful that it crushed 17 windows, reports Norwegian daily Stavanger Aftenblad.

This concerns 11 windows on the mid deck and six windows on the lower deck. The windows are placed at a height of 20-25 meters above sea level, which means that the wave was around 30 meters high when it hit the rig. The crew performing the evacuation (Norwegian rescue service Hovedredningssentralen) informs that the waves were hitting the helicopter platform when one of the employees was hoisted into a helicopter.
