Statistics confirm 2016 investment plunge in the North Sea

Statistics Norway, the Norwegian bureau of statistics, lowers the estimate for investments in the Norwegian Shelf in its latest prognosis. The estimate of USD 19.7 billion from the beginning of 2015 has now been significantly reduced.

On Wednesday, Statistics Norway, which is the Norwegian national bureau of statistics, put numbers on what most people were already afraid of. In 2016, the investments in oil and gas, industry, mining and energy supply on the Norwegian Shelf will presumably slide by 13.3 percent compared to the other estimates so far, which were compiled at the beginning of 2015, according to the Statistics Norway website.
