Statoil pays USD 61 million to get rid of Seadrill rig

The Norwegian oil company pays a big price to get out of a contract for a major Seadrill rig.

The recent uptick is not enough to keep rig West Hercules from being sent back from Statoil to owner Seadrill. This is clear after Statoil on Monday announced that it has terminated the lease and will send the rig back as soon as possible.
