Schlumberger continues more firings in Norway

The French carrier Schlumberger feels compelled to make further adjustments to the market situation. Employees in Norway risk losing their jobs.

The oil service company Schlumberger is considering scaling back jobs in Norway. The continued downturn in the oil industry is prompting the sad news, says the company to news media E24.

"Although we believe that we have hit the bottom of the cycle, we don't see a future which is sustainable enough in the short term and we have to make a critical decision and consider scaling back staff at our Information Technology Centre in Asker," writes Ariana Labadens, head of communications at Schlumberger, in an email to E24.
