Wintershall projects significantly improved result this year

Oil major Wintershall, which is especially active in the North Sea, anticipates "significant" improvements for its top line and operating profit in 2017 after a setback last year. The company achieved a record production in 2016 despite the downturn in the oil and gas sector.

In spite of a big slide in the financial results for last year, Germany's Wintershall – which has a sizeable portion of its activities in the North Sea – projects a "significant" rise in sales as well as the operating profit (EBIT) for 2017.
