Maersk's oil business roars ahead

The first three months of the year brought growth in both revenue and earnings to Maersk Oil, which can thank the rise in oil prices.

Maersk Oil succeeded in boosting earnings and securing a profit in the first quarter of 2017.

The oil business exited the first three months of 2017 with revenue of USD 1.375 billion (EUR 1.264 billion), which is a solid increase compared to the same quarter in the year prior, when the company's saw the oil division's sales come to USD 1.03 billion.

3i buys AMP out of Esvagt

Private equity firm 3i, which owns half of carrier Esvagt, has agreed with the company's second owner, AMP Capital, to take over all of Esvagt for GBP 268 million, making 3i the sole owner. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022.
