Brazil's former president gets nine-year sentence for corruption

Former Brazilian President Lula da Silva has been sentenced in the comprehensive corruption scandal involving the country's oil company Petrobras. He calls the case ridiculous.

A federal judge in Brazil has sentenced former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for corruption and money laundering. This is the first of five corruption cases filed against Brazil's former president.
