Offshore carrier GC Rieber reduces deficit

Rieber Shipping has trimmed a big chunk off its half-year deficit compared to last year, shows the interim report. But the offshore carrier, where a new CEO is taking over today, does not think that rates are cause for optimism.

Norwegian offshore carrier GC Rieber booked a loss in the first half of 2017 totaling NOK 84.6 million (USD 10.6 million) compared to a deficit of NOK 157.7 million in the first half of 2016, according to the company's interim report published Friday.
