Hurricane hits the US oil industry

Monday morning, the oil price reached its highest level in two years, after Hurricane Harvey caused refineries in the US to shut down production. According to the weather forecast, there is no improvement in store for coming days.

Heavy rains have poured down in Texas over the past few days, causing the most extreme floods ever recorded in the history of Houston. According to the weather forecast, things are not set to dry off any time soon.

Since Hurricane Harvey struck land before the weekend and was then downgraded to the status of tropical storm, several areas in Houston, the fourth-largest city in the US, have seen rainfall of almost 80 centimeters.
