DP World increases volumes in first half of the year

DP World increased its volumes during the first six months of 2019 following good results in the Pacific region, the Indian subcontinent and Africa. "Encouragingly, despite uncertainty from the trade war, we have seen robust volumes," states the terminal operator's CEO.

APM Terminals competitor DP World has turned its stagnating first quarter growth around and delivered a volume increase for the first half of the year.

The Dubai-based terminal operator handled 35.8 million teu during the first six months of 2019, corresponding to a 0.5 percent growth compared to the same period last year, according to the company's second quarter financial report.
